Know the signs
Signs your garage door is off track
Rollers out of the track
One or more rollers have popped out of the track, often near the bottom or at the curve.
Door stuck crooked
The door is jammed at an angle, partly open, and won’t move up or down.
Bent or twisted track
A visible kink in the vertical track, usually from a car or mower bump.
Grinding or popping
The door grinds, pops or shudders as rollers skip in a track that’s out of line.
Gap down one side
Light shows along one side of the door, or the door no longer sits flat against the stops.
Sagging section
A panel bows or sags because the rollers and hinges on one side are no longer supported.
Our process
How we handle a off-track garage door repair
Secure the door
We clamp the door in place and take the load off safely before anything is moved.
Re-seat and straighten
Rollers go back into the track. Bent track is straightened or replaced, and loose brackets are re-fastened.
Fix the cause
We replace worn rollers or damaged hinges and check the cables, drums and springs, since a broken cable often starts the problem.
Align, balance and test
Tracks are aligned, the door is balanced and the opener’s force and auto-reverse are tested before we leave.
Why it happens
What knocks a garage door off its track?
The most common cause is a bump: a car backing out before the door is fully open, a mower or a bike catching the bottom section. In Dallas neighborhoods with tight alley turns and narrow driveways, bumped tracks are one of the most common calls we get. Strong wind can also push a closed door inward and pop rollers out, a common problem on open lots in Fort Worth and the newer suburbs.
Inside the door, a broken cable or spring lets one side drop and pulls rollers out of the track. Worn or cracked rollers, loose track brackets and lag bolts that have backed out over years of vibration all let the track drift. An opener that keeps pushing a binding door can force it the rest of the way out.
Prevention
How to keep a door on track
Wait for the door to open all the way before you back out, and keep bikes and bins clear of the opening. Once a year, look for loose track bolts, cracked or wobbling rollers and frayed cables. Grinding and popping are early warnings.
A yearly tune-up and safety check covers rollers, hinges, track alignment and balance, which is how most off-track calls can be avoided. If your door is already off track, call (877) 547-9033 and we’ll get it running again.

FAQ
Off-track garage door repair questions
Can I push my garage door back on track myself?
We don’t recommend it. An off-track door is unstable and heavy, and the cables and springs are under tension. Unplug the opener, keep clear and call us.
Is it safe to leave the door off track overnight?
Leave it where it is, unplug the opener and keep people and cars away from it. If the door is stuck open and you need it secured, call us. We’re open 24/7.
Will I need new tracks?
Not always. Many tracks can be straightened and re-aligned. If a track is kinked or twisted, we’ll replace that section and tell you before any work starts.
Why does my door keep coming off track?
Usually worn rollers, loose track brackets, a cable problem or a door that’s out of balance. We fix the cause so it doesn’t happen again.
Do you fix off-track doors in Dallas and Fort Worth?
Yes. We repair off-track doors in Dallas, Fort Worth and across the Metroplex.
Do you price match?
Yes. We offer a Price Match Guarantee. Bring a written quote or screenshots from another company, and your technician will review it with you before any work starts.
